Mithun Shyam is an Indian Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Bengaluru.[1] He has contributed to social and gender-based themes through classical dance.[2][3]

Career

Shyam is a student of Guru Padmini Ramachandran and is trained in the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam.[4][5] He is an 'A' graded artiste of Doordarshan and is also empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.[6] His dance productions include Purushantaragatah,[7] Shyama Sundari,[8] Manaha, 18 Golden Steps,[9] Bibi Nachiyar,[10] Gandarva Abhinaya,[11] etc. He established the dance institution Vaishnavi Natyashala, in Bengaluru[12] in 1998.
